Sean Paul: Bridging the Gap
Author: dompee | April 3rd, 2006
We had a chance to sit down with Sean Paul two weeks ago, and we’re still impressed. Time and again he mentioned his willingness to be an “ambassador” for dancehall… as well as a mouthpiece for the young, the poor, the voiceless. And he knows his musical history—listen how he connects dancehall to the ska music of his parents’ generation.
Sean recently made his own history. With “Temperature” topping the Billboard Hot 100, he’s now the most successful Jamaican artist ever on the U.S. charts. Bless up!!
